Natural Bridge, Virginia, USA A MEMORABLE DINNER AND GREAT STAY AT THIS HISTORIC HOTEL! One of our favorite places that we visited during our summer vacation was Natural Bridge, VIrginia where Mother Nature entertains you with her wonders like viewing the natural bridge land formation, strolling through the Cedar Creek Nature Trail, a visit to the Lace Falls, exploring the caverns, visiting the Virginia Safari Park and discovering every little quaint spot and scenery in the magical countryside. The Natural Bridge Hotel is an oasis of comfort, hospitality and culinary delights. This has more than 150 rooms for the guests with room choices of views of the Blue Ridge mountains, thick woods, balcony apartments with rocking chairs at the porch or cottage style living. This hotel is also known for its cuisine, wedding and party receptions, conference and meeting facilities. This started as a two bedroom cottage which U.S.President Thomas Jefferson then decided to be built for his guests in the1700s. The Colonial Dining Room offers satisfaction and delights to the palates of its patrons and guests. Allan and I had a wonderful and delicious Dinner with scrumptious dishes of Saltimboca with ham and chicken on gorgonzola sauce, an angel hair pasta with shrimps and black beans, spoon bread (a hotels signature), some green salads and vegetables and a bottle of full bodied red wine from the local vineyard. The dessert of black raspberry custard flambe with vanilla scoops was a real treat! The dinner was fantastic! We also met and made friends with some special people from Wico, New York and Lynchburg, Virginia. We shared some delicious breakfast with John and Jane Wright and their friends the following morning. We truly loved this special place and we would like to come back for another pleasant memory.
