Never Forget Its the phrase that comes to mind the most when 9/11 comes up. But I fear the the focus is in the wrong place. Never forget what exactly? That America was attacked? That they hate our freedom? That America will root out all evil no matte where it hides? Try at home first. 9/11I was a terrible and scarring event for many people, not just Americans and a tragedy that could have been avoided. Forget the numerous conspiracy theories. The simple fact is that if America had truly been the shining light and the best country on the planet it professes to be, 9/11 would never have happened. A disturbing amount of people believe the attacks were unwarranted, unfair, unjustified what have you, but the simple fact remains: this didnt come out of nowhere. Americas foreign policy is abominable, inhuman, illegal and hypocritical. You dont get two jumbo jets crashing into your symbols of economic power for spreading democracy and justice. So never forget that America has failed its people. Never forget that millions hate America for very justifiable reasons. Never forget that America can truly be that world leader and shining light if it walked the walk. Never forget that America needs to fix itself before it can fix the world. Never forget that the world doesnt need to be fixed by America and that it should lead by example and offer help where it can with no strings attached. Never forget that this will take centuries to happen and it all starts today.
