New Job Work Permit Authoriser - J4853 Industry: Engineering Job Type: Permanent Location: City of London, England Salary: £35000 - £40000 per annum + £40k plus benefits Work Request/ Permit to Work Authoriser - London - to £40k plus benefits A major facilities maintenance company is urgently seeking a Work Permit Authoriser to manage the day to day permit to work system of this major blue chip company. You must have a solid background in building services( M+E) and have a sound knowledge of working with permits to work. Knowledge of working with an electronic permit to work system notably e-permits would be a considerable advantage. You will assist with the day to day operation of the Authorisation Office. To be a member of a successful team who are committed to achieving the clients and company objectives. To support the Authorisation Manger and be an integral member of the team. Undertake shift cover if needed to cover holiday and absence. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES *Key point of contact for authorisation of RAMS, Authority to Access and Permits to Work. *Reading RAMS, Authority to Access, Permits to Work and COSH assessments. *Verification of approvals for each work effort. *Check validity of Work Area and Work Zone approvals. *Check validity of site inductions and Cap training and carrying out when necessary. *Ensure Work Area and Work Zones are handed back in safe condition. *Carry out site reports. *Maintain internal approval group database. *Undertake general housekeeping duties. *To instil best working practices. *Review working practices of all Vendors. DIMENSIONS *Interface with all stakeholders. *Consult fully with all relevant departments to ensure seamless delivery of services. *Assist with the development of the Work Request/Permit and Authority to Access process. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS *Candidates will be time served and have as a minimum, an academic qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. *Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills. *It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a Can do customer attitude at all times. Qualifications *Proven experience as a day engineer in building services within prestigious environment. *City and Guild qualification and any relevant qualification in all aspects of building services and mechanical engineering (17th Edition, LV and HV qualification) *NEBOSH General Certificate. Skills *Excellent communication skills. *Excellent written skills. *Comprehension of RAMS and COSH assessments. Personal Attributes *Able to work on their own initiative. *Good customer liaison skills along with a front of the house mentality. *Have a can do attitude and flexible approach. *Able to work as part of a team.
