New Study Suggests That Dogs might feel jealousy. ................................................................................ Psychologists from the University of California-San Diego adopted a test normally used on human babies to see if dogs exhibit jealous behavior. Dogs were videotaped as their owners interacted with an animated, stuffed dog or a plastic jack-o-lantern. In some cases, the owners read a childrens pop-up book. When the owners were petting and talking sweetly to the stuffed dogs, most of the real dogs tried nudging their owners to get attention. In some cases, the dogs got more aggressive, growling or nipping at the stuffed dogs. The dogs usually appeared less concerned about the jack-o-lanterns, though some also acted aggressively toward them. The researchers said the results dont necessarily show that dogs experience jealousy. In humans, jealousy is a complex emotion involving the evaluation of different relationships and outside threats to those relationships. They said the dogs might have distrusted the stuffed animal and were reacting out of fear. - See more at: seluzentertainment/en/news/international-news/469-new-study-suggests-that-dogs-might-feel-jealousy#sthash.mcqTK8jU.dpuf
