New perspective. ..mental illness is commonly associated with schizophrenia or bi polar and other popular terms but another unfamiliar form of mental illness is the loss of the process that is supposed to happen in the human mind between stimulus and response, which is critical thinking. A pigeon, dog, or many other types of animals even fleas can be taught to complete tasks or tricks which appear to be intelligence but it is just a conditioning to react to a stimuli whether it be a hand signal or vocal cue or some other sort. What separates humans from all other species is the ability to contemplate a decision to react or not when presented with a stimulus, based on knowledge and experience. The tragedy is that most people have been conditioned to skip the process and just respond.
