#Nigeria Comment of the Day Lazarus Obinna: In the entire #Lagos State, I cant count up to 10 billboards that have #Fasholas face on them. Most of the popular tv stations are in Lagos and also pay tax to the Lagos state government yet the government does nt waste money on them airing doctored videos of unexistent projects. Come to Imo state as little as Owerri, you will count not less than 50 billboards/flex banners carrying the governors face and prototypes of projects not yet awarded. Okorocha spends a large part of Imo resources on AIT showcasing projects that are of no economic value to the state. He spent about 400 million just last year on live broadcasts of events(including birthday celebrations) that could have been relayed during news hour on AIT or any other tv station...Okorocha has become AITs regular customer (a clear case of an empty barrel making the loudest noise). The worst is that these projects are of no benefit to the predominantly poor rural dwellers in Imo state. Not everybody can afford to to have a wedding reception at ICC built by ORO in #Owerri the place is only for the rich and government functionaries. Freedom square, Bongo square, Heroes square etc. The entire state is now squared even when we have grasshoppers handball stadium serving the same purpose for which these other squares are now meant to serve. These things are not development. A good and sustainable development will have a direct positive impact on the people. #Imo is being confronted with a long list of pressing needs. I advice ORO to look inward,identify the main problems confronting the state and try solving one for posterity sake because he has not solved any even dough its too late for him now as he begins his re-election gimmicks.
