Nightcrawler : I remember when I first watch The Dark Knight, no matter how hard I tried I just couldnt find Heath Ledger behind the Joker. Jake Gyllenhaal did the same thing to me in this film without pushing the performance into the comical realm. In fact he hits the sweet spot right under the uncanny valley, creating the most genuinely creepy protagonist I have ever seen. And the best part is that the film managed to make the audiences root for this creepy man and the terrible deeds he have done. He just went so far off the path of morality to a point where it seems laudable.
