The film was released on December 6, 2014 in Japan, two years after the previous film. It was announced at Jump Festa in December 2012. The film was adapted into a novel written by Maruo Kyōzuka and released on December 8, 2014. Plot Two years after the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War, the moon begins to descend towards the Earth. With the moon now a meteor that would destroy everything on impact, Naruto must deal with this new threat. Meanwhile, Toneri Ōtsutsuki, a descendent of Hamura Ōtsutsuki determined to carry on his ancestors legacy, appears and kidnaps Hanabi Hyūga after failing to seize Hinata, who tries and fails to give Naruto a personal gift of love — a red scarf she knitted herself in remembrance of one Naruto used to wear back in the Academy — at the Konohagakure Winter Festival. Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Sai, and Shikamaru are deployed to go and rescue Hanabi. Toneri returns and Hinata is captured, thus Naruto has to save both of them, unaware he is going to finally return Hinatas feelings. I also heard that some parts of the epilogue appears in the film, when they are older with their children. How they all are all grown up. Next year, new manga (Part III) of the Naruto series will continue with the next-gen Naruto Characters.
