No More Kontry Fashion! Africans are proned to kontry fashion; and what is actually meant by this is traditional religious practices that entail the spilling of blood, especially the blood of goats. When people tell you they went for family meeting know that some religious practice was at the centre stage. The Jews had a similar religious practice where the blood of goats was necessary for appeasement. But when the right time came God sent his one and only Son as a repacement for all animal sacrifices. In the past the Chief priest had to on a yearly basis lay his hands on an unblemished innocent goat, confess the sin of all Israelites on the goat and ask for Gods forgiveness. Thereafter somebody had to lead the goat into the desert where it wandered until it died of starvation or from wild beasts. The goat carried the sin of the people and died for it, even though it was itself sinless! (Hence the scapecoat)! Jesus came and became a replacement of the scapegoat dying for humanitys sin once and for all! John saw and knew him, so he testified: Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. John went further: I have seen and I testify that this is the son of God. (John 1:29-34). My dear friend, this alone is the goodnews that while we were yet sinners God sent his one and only Son as a once and for all expiation of sin. In this is grace and our response to it is to do the works that demonstrate our faith! So my friend, if you are a true believer then No more kontry fashion for you! The blood of the Lamb has cleansed you once and for all! Have a blessed day.
