No charges against SC police chief after chase Prosecutors have decided against filing charges against Robinson, the Herald of Rock Hill reported Wednesday. Police dashcam video of Jacob Floyd Bailey’s arrest after he was accused of stealing a car shows Robinson approaching Bailey when he is on the ground and surrounded by several officers. The video of the April 4 incident appears to show that Robinson steps on Bailey. The State Law Enforcement Division investigated the incident and gave the results to Anderson prosecutor Chrissy Adams, who handled the case because of Robinson’s close work with the prosecutor in York County. Adams wrote to SLED on Wednesday saying while Robinson’s actions were inappropriate, they were not criminal. Robinson says he’s happy the case is over. He told the newspaper Wednesday that Bailey was not fully handcuffed at the time. He did not dispute the appearance on the video of his stepping on the suspect. Robinson was suspended for three days in May for violating York’s pursuit policy in the chase. Source: chronicle.augusta/ geogianews/no-charges-against-sc-police-chief-after-chase-2/
