No one understands the plight of a farm wife but another farm - TopicsExpress

No one understands the plight of a farm wife but another farm wife. Once when we were having all of Marks family for the Fourth of July we lost a big feeder steer. So we called what we called the dead animal wagon and they were going to come and pick it up. That was all well and good except they werent going to come until the day after the Fourth. They always liked for you to drag the animal as close to the road as you could to make it easier to get, thats all well and good too. But it wasnt well and good when I looked out the window to see Mark dragging the dead steer to the end of the driveway. Now everyone who came to our Fourth of July picnic was going to have to drive right past that big dead steer on a hot day in July. Mark didnt see the problem and felt like it was one less thing he had to do the next day. Sigh...... Now today I am having my pampered chef party I was working getting things ready for it and I went out in the entrance and the lace curtains were blowing in the wind and I loved it, THEN IT HIT ME. Mark and Amish man were right outside the windows and there was a big wagon load of chicken manure and the smell of it was floating right in my house. SIGH.......... Oh well, this too shall pass. The wagon is gone now and things are slowly returning to normal. :)
