Not sure what was irking Pat Kane this morning on the Today - TopicsExpress

Not sure what was irking Pat Kane this morning on the Today programme, but he seemed angry from word go. Fraid he just sounded sarcastic and rude. Its a waste of vital air time. Perhaps anyone who speaks on behalf of Yes should be given some kind of mindfulness mantra! Passion is great, but the tactic of attacking the opposition just serves their side by perpetuating the perception that Yes voters (and for that they see us all as nationalists) are angry and arrogant. And Im afraid that sometimes that perception is right. Any dissent or questioning is greeted with shouting down and outrage. Anyone who comes out as a No is vilified and ridiculed. It stifles debate. And who wants to live in that kind of Scotland? Fs sake enough already. I know people are passionate. But be also wise, if we want to win people round we need to talk calmly, and kindly we need to BE kind to folk who dont agree with us, and we need to listen, cos were all aware that on 19th September and onwards, whatever the result, were all still going to be neighbours . Thought Patrick Harvie and Robin McCalpine did much the other day to restore the vision thing (again on the Today programme) and to say this is not solely about Salmond/SNP this is about a movement that is grass roots, more about weve had Labour and we didnt get social justice we just got bankrupt and a bloody war. Sorry, my point is, if we sound angry we will not be able to convince anyone of anything. And maybe the SNP could be bold and wise and make some more room on the podium for other voices too. Ahem. As you were.
