Nurse: *notices my bed alarm is off* Oh, did they take you off of fall risk today? Me: I dont know if I ever officially was on or off fall risk. I know they had the bed alarm on yesterday evening, and that I threatened the tech with call kinds of mischievousness and torment if he did not turn it off and make sure it stayed turned off. And I know that since then, theyve kept it off. Nurse: Well, heres the deal. Youre on a high AND frequent dose of narcotics, which makes you susceptible to falling, which means youre supposed to be ON fall risk. If you fall, I get in trouble. So were going to leave the bed alarm off, and if you fall, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and make damn sure no one, including me, hears about it / finds out / etc. Got it?
