OCC votes for drilling changes The Oklahoma Corporation - TopicsExpress

OCC votes for drilling changes The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) held their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday in Oklahoma City. The meeting had several agenda items that dealt with oil and gas production, horizontal wells and rules on the enhancement or addition of injection and disposal wells were discussed. The first part of the meeting dealt with operating rules the OCC would like to change and send to the Oklahoma Legislature and the governor for approval. The commission is proposing changes for drilling and spacing of horizontal drills that are concurrently being drilled in the same area as non-horizontal drilling units. The rule change being proposed would require drilling companies to notify the OCC when there is a horizontal drilling and spacing unit in the same area as a non-horizontal well.
