OCT 28-This Day in Beatles History: Would the Beatles ever have become world famous without the event that took place on this day way back in 1961? According to Beatles folklore, in the middle of the afternoon, a teenager named Raymond Jones walked into Brian Epsteins Liverpool, England record store and asked for a song called My Bonnie by the Beatles, a recording made in Germany. Epstein, of course, never heard of the record, but promised to find it as he always prided himself for having any music his customers were looking for. Epstein tracked down the record AND the band that recorded it. Epstein eventually became their manager and guided the Beatles to an unparalled career in rock and roll music...1962-One year later, having just released their first single, Love Me Do, Epstein had The Beatles on stage at the Empire Theater in Liverpool as the supporting act for rock star Little Richard...1968-Cynthia Lennon was awarded a divorce from John Lennon...1971-At the Record Plant in NYC, John & Yoko began recording Happy Xmas (War is Over), a song that would eventually become a holiday staple on the airwaves every Christmas season...1974-A London court case pitting John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr against their former business manager Allen Klein, was decided in favor of the ex-Fab Four members and 28 UK and American companies associated with the Beatles...
