OK I have a question-- As I was talking with Dad , going through all his pictures etc.. I asked him what made him join? He said back then he didnt even have time to think about it, he was drafted at 21 years old. BUT if it was today he would enlist for our Country.(Mom and Dad surprisingly remember Mike OBrien and I showed them all his pictures, they are proud) QUESTION: what and why did you make the decision to join the Military? Good Memories ??? Bad Memories? I remember when I took my Mom and Dad to Hawaii (45 years after he served)-- not thinking, I booked a Helicopter ride for us. I will never , ever forget the look on Dads face when he said NO I will never get in a helicopter again. I said why Dad? He said, the memories from Korea. He didnt say too much more just that his last helicopter he was in was when he was coming home he thought it was his last and he was never going to make it home and vowed he would never get in a helicopter again....... I left it at that.. But now I ask........... what made you decide the Military was where you wanted to spend so many years of your lives?
