OZORO-Prominent leaders from ozoro community urged Hon leo ogor to consider re-election to ensure he continue his good work at the national assembly, they also advised isoko sons and duaghters to rally round him ahead of the scheduled 2015 election. It was a rain of reassurance and absolute support as delegates of all the segment of community leadership, political leaders and notable chiefs of Ozoro Kingdom visited Hon Leo Ogor. The visit, according to them is to appreciate him for his immeasurable good works and qualitative representation of the Isoko nation at the lower chamber. They further appeal to him for a fresh term of office in other to continue the good work he is doing for Isoko nation. In a swift response, the federal lawmaker stressed the need for continuity in the legislature, according to him, “it is not good to change a winning team” He was however quick to add that such continuity should be based on the appraisal and approval of the performance of the representatives by their people. The Deputy Majority leader of the House of representative, also appealed to the community leaders to synergize between themselves and those in government to pave way for full realization of the ends of the social contract between the people and government. Hon leo Ogor made the call over the week when he received a delegation of leaders of thought from Ozoro community who were on an appreciation visit to him at his Ozoro residence where they commended him for his rural developments strides and pledged their unalloyed support for his future political ambitions. He said: “My continued stay in Abuja and in politics is dependent on you, the people. If today you tell me that I have had enough and that I should stop, I will thank you; and if you have somebody in your mind you want me to support, I will gladly support the person because the power is in your hands. It is only you the people and God that can determine my future; no other human being can. He said the people should be allowed to make their choice of representatives of their own freewill based on the pedigree, antecedents, and integrity of available candidates. “Meanwhile, earlier in his address, the leader of the delegation Mr. Afemari said Ozoro has never had it this good, and as such, total support for there son is all they own him. In his words, he said the essence of democracy was to take development to the grassroots, emphasizing that Hon Leo had distinguished himself in this regard. He also used the opportunity to urge Hon Leo to consider going for another term to consolidate on his numerous achievements. He said the community is very appreciative of his unprecedented efforts in his words, Hon Leo is a leading light to Ozoro and indeed, the whole of Isoko. There after other Speakers reaffirm Mr. Afamire position saying, Ozoro is solidly behind Hon Leo. They particularly thanked him for his developmental stride across the length and breath of Isoko. “We have benefitted from you and want to assure you that we the Ozoro people are solidly behind you; we will not hesitate to give you unalloyed support in any of your future political quests; you can always count on us”, he assured.
