Ok.. Need your input! After having read the Screw tape Letters by C.S. Lewis, and The tragical history of Dr. Faustus by Christopher Marlowe, I now have to write a paper with a thesis. I have this British Lit professor who wants me to argue that life experiences or forces outside of man can create a characters emotional state and that emotional state can then create his/her moral system. I see many problems with this thesis, and Im trying to approach this from a biblical perspective. Free will is the theme Im trying to interject into this argument. Experience and demons cant override a persons will. What are your thoughts on the matter? Look up the texts on spark notes, if youre really interested in helping and have no idea what Im talking about. My brain is fried, so I do appreciate any help or perspective that is given.
