Ok now that Ive had time to cool off Ill talk about yesterday. Most people who know me know that Im a diabetic and I very often have trouble with my feet. In consideration of this, I bought an electric scooter for my vacation mainly to take to Disney so I wouldnt have to walk on my feet all day. On Wednesday I made arrangements to ride a shuttle bus to Universal. When the driver arrived he said if I could pick up my scooter then I could ride because he had not been notified about me. I called the reservation desk and they told him to let me and my granddaughter on the shuttle. This was embarrassing to me and to Dezi but we finally got to Universal and had a good time for a few hours until the storms came in the afternoon. We had to take shelter for a long time until we finally realized that we should go ahead and head to our destination to catch the shuttle bus back to my condo. Let me mention - I called during the day to make sure arrangements had been made for my scooter and was guaranteed that there wouldnt be a problem. Now for around 50 minutes all of the people on my bus stood out in the pouring rain with thunder and lightening all around us. Our driver finally showed up (late) and he told me that he wouldnt let me and Dezi on his bus with my scooter. I told him that I had made arrangements and he said he hadnt been notified and I couldnt get on with my scooter. I ask him Are you going to leave us here in this storm and he said YES I was terrified, angry, cold, wet, humiliated, and embarrassed. It was lightening all around us. Thankfully, a man that was on the bus said youre not leaving these grills behind - he picked my scooter up and put it on the bus for me. Another man offer his seat to me and Dezi. I could never thank these men enough. we get back to the drop off at the condos which was building 1 - we are staying in building 19. It had rained so much that my battery had gotten wet and the scooter was no longer working so Dezi and I had to push it in the rain to our condo. I called to complain about this driver and was told that I should have made prior arrangements - I told the guy on the phone that I did twice to which he said he had no record of it then I literally lost my temper and started screaming at him then he says oh yes, someone was there to pick you up at 7:54 and you were not there. That was a lie - our driver was 20 minutes late - we didnt get on the bus until 8:05. Ill never understand how someone can turn their back on a woman with a child in need - actually, anyone in need. He had every intention of driving off while we were standing in the pouring rain, with thunder and lightening all around us. This was absolutely the worst day of our vacation but today has been great. Spent the day at the pool and bought souvenirs. Tomorrow we will go back to Disney but leaving the scooter behind.
