On August 25th...a week from tomorrow...is the University of Miami Band of the Hour Famous First rehearsal at Fillmore Hall. I hope a ton of former members show up to let the band know how much we support them. In August of 1954 I was a Freshman trumpet player in the band. In those days we were all on full scholarship. The rehearsal was in a temporary building on the other side of the campus. Everything I have accomplished in life is due to my wife Sandy and to the Band of the Hour. I will be there, so will Sandy. Associate Dean will probably be there. He tells me the School of Music has an amazing freshman class coming in. There is no power like the Band of the Hour!
