On September 10, 2014 our president informed, not only the American public, but also ISIS that he was going to initiate an aggressive air bombardment campaign against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. What President Obama should have said in that speech is “we have initiated an aggressive bombardment campaign against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.” While President Obama was informing American about his strategy against ISIS, B-1 Lancers, B-2 Spirits, B -52 Stratofortress , FB-111 Aardvarks and F-117 Nighthawk’s should have been raining death and destruction upon this scum. As these aircraft were completing their mission and just about the time the president was telling us that he was seeking a coalition with other countries, AC-130 Spectres, A-10 Thunderbolts, F-15 Strike Eagles, F-16 Fighting Falcons, F-18 Hornets F-22 Raptors, F-35 Lightings and AV8 Harriers would be entering to kill anything left alive. What President Obama should have done is nowhere near what he actually has done. He has told the enemy that he is coming after them and has given them time to move their manpower and resources from harm’s way. Once ISIS beheaded James Foley the full force of America’s military power should have been utilized. Under the War Powers Act the president as Commander-in-Chief can deploy military assets and has 60 days to report to Congress. A lot of damage can be done in a 60 day period. Just my opinion.
