On the Deere is Kendal, younger brother to Julian and Carlin. Kendal is 16 and works as hard as any man I have ever met, never complaining. Julian is the oldest and is married. I asked Julian one day if he would like to mow some and he said he couldnt do that. It took me by surprise and I looked at him in a puzzled way and asked him why not. He said he had already been baptized and wasnt allowed to ride the tractor for that length of time to mow the field. So I asked him just how long was he allowed to ride the tractor. He said he wasnt allowed to ride it long enough to mow the field because if he used it for a long time, he might want one of his own. Since Kendal and Carlin were not baptized yet, they could ride the Deere. Sigh... If only our worst temptation was wanting a John Deere tractor.... , but I respected him for his convictions. So, I showed Kendal how to use the mower and off he went, layed back in the seat, cool as a cucumber, like he was born riding the Deere. Loved every minute of it because his job was easy and the bigger brothers had to do the manual labor. :)
