On the evening of 11-02-2014, a 2-month joint investigation between the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department and the New Madrid Police Department was wrapped up with the service of a Search Warrant in Catron with the assistance of the SEMO Drug Task Force. The Sheriffs and Police Departments served the Search Warrant at a residence where numerous people were detained. During the search, officers found what appeared to be a sophisticated marijuana grow operation. Approximately 15 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, were discovered. Six individuals were taken into custody at the scene and were transported to the Pemiscot County Jail. Their names and charges are as follows: -Erica D Clement, 21, of New Madrid, is charged with 1 count of Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent and 2 counts of 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Clement is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $40,000 bond. -Nicholas Rhodes, 31, of New Madrid, is charged with 2 counts of Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent and 1 count of 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Rhodes is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $40,000 bond. -James McCain, 42, of Catron, is charged with 1 count of Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent. McCain is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond. -Angela McCain, 42, of Catron, is charged with 1 count of Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent. McCain is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond. -Shanna Matkin, 25, of Piedmont, is charged with 1 count of Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent. McCain is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond. -Kenneth Steele, 21, of Piedmont, is charged with 1 count of Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent. McCain is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
