Once you get used to hearing paws pattering in the house, its too damn sad to live without... So though I still choke-up when I talk, write or think about the beautiful puppy we lost, I pulled it together and donated his leftover medicines in the hopes they will help some elses pet. The vet on call said there was a cat who would get some immediately, without which he would have died. And then we drove all over the country until we found her... One of 7 puppies left in a box outside a pound on October 1st, no note. In two weeks only two had been adopted, and one of those two was returned to the shelter, with no explanation, the day after she was adopted. That puppy was returned to the shelter in the morning, Ghost died a few hours earlier the previous night. Maybe this puppy was meant for us. So, though there is such a deep hole in my heart, at least there are puppy paws running around again and I know we will all heal. She is a cuddler and loves to snuggle. I think we need that. Maybe she does too... And here is Luna, our beautiful puppy. Weve had her less than 24 hours and she is well on her way to making our house her home.
