One month ago today, our beloved mascot -- Bug, a.k.a The Notorious B.U.G. -- passed away unexpectedly of cancer. Were still processing the loss, which came as a shock since he was our youngest dog (in a house full of seniors!). Up until his last 24 hours, Bug was a happy, playful dog who lived life to the fullest. We miss him more than words can express, and his gal pal Mary Todd Lincoln (shown here) hasnt been herself without Bug around. Bug taught us many things, like the importance of not jumping to conclusions about a dogs past or their previous owners. We consider Bugs previous owner to be part of our family and we keep in close touch with him; in fact, he was one of the first people we contacted when Bug passed away. He was the inspiration behind our Ruff Riders project, which assists Brooklyn and NYC pet owners in need by sharing resources, information, and access to affordable pet care.
