One of my biggest pet Peeves in fanfic is when an author mangles names (It usually happens with character names, but occasionally place or spell names will get bungled as well.). Im not talking about typos - those are an understandable one-time offence. Im talking about repeated misspellings. Now, if its a oneshot and the discrepancy is small (I used to think Zabini was spelled Zambini - not uncommon, but mortifying once I was corrected), I can see a writer feeling reluctant to go back and edit the published work, having finished it and moved on already before its pointed out to them. But in a MC, its sheer laziness. And the worse the misspelling, the more I hate it. (A few days ago I was reading a fic that repeatedly mentioned a Blaise Zambalini.
