One of my resolutions was to pause and take more time for me and do things that I like instead of always being on the go. Today, I decided to re-live my childhood and park my car by the Tortola wharf and ride my bike to Mandela Circle and back. I made it to Giant Gas and felt the tire needed some air. While putting air in the tire, it popped! So there I am at a gas station with no tire, dollar man off the streets and car by the wharf. Im sitting there praying that someone helps me because if I called Pops Sarauw out of Bordeaux for me, I would never hear the end of it. A grown lady like me is still stressed to call daddy when I know I did nonsense. After a while I sucked it up, prayed and called daddy. The kind of fussing he put under me wondering what person with a fancy Masters degree puts air in a tire until it blows?!?! I felt like I was in Ulla Muller all over again. But this Santo man saw my stressed face on the phone and said he has a body shop around the corner so hes gonna go Kmart, buy me a tube and fix it. In no time I told dad Im ok and not to leave home. Tonight I really wasnt prepared for the light up I was going to get if he had to rescue me and fix my tire. Thank god for this Santo guy. He has no idea how grateful I am that he spared me from the rod of Levron Sr.... Whew!! But you know daddy called back in 10 minutes to give me his CRUDE commentary on how stupid he thought I was... Lol! Like I said, hes going in a nice nursing home.
