One of our clients has a little foster dog he is trying to find a home for. Here is what he has to say: I have been fostering a small dog for the last few weeks, a beautiful Chihuahua we call Roxie, an incredibly smart and good natured female that is around eight months old. I cant tell you how much I love this dog. Every time I see her she makes my heart sing. Our other dogs, an English black Lab and Border Collie, both females, love to play with her. However, we have three cats as well and I have supported the request by my partner that we not add another. So we’re looking for an owner for Roxy. Folks at Colony Park Animal Hospital have met and examined her, said her health is good. She’s had her rabies shot, been dewormed, but she still needs to be spayed. We know something of her history. For the most part, she is just now adjusting to living with a family and having a home and has done well. We’ve been house training her and in general, she has been responsive to a variety of commands. She likely would work best in a home with another congenial dog. She would not like being in a crate. She wants someone or a family who is loving, doesn’t mind holding and petting her from time to time, where someone is around the house a good bit, and has a secure yard. Being a small dog who clearly foraged for food in the past, we found that she could follow the rabbits under a few places of our oldest line of fence on one side of our property. She’s not a yappy or noisy dog, which we like, but an excellent watch dog despite her size due to her excellent hearing. She is very loving, and wants to be loved well, sit on your lap or near by, or play with another dog in the home - any size is fine. She gets along with cats well. We would like to do a play date with any prospective family first - see how you all get along, and Roxy with the other animals. If youd like to see a photo with a possible interest in adding Roxy to your family, call Fred at 919-824-4699.
