One of the key experts to testify against the new APUSH was Larry Kreiger, renowned author and educator whose books and workshops have helped thousands of students achieve high scores on both the SAT and AP tests; both owned by the College Board. On the Women On the Wall Conference call last Wednesday, Krieger shared his many concerns with the new AP U.S. History framework and exam. He stated, the college board is well aware it is a cohesive whole, influenced by revisionist historians and they know darn well is contradicts the Texas TEKS. They even commissioned a group of Texas Teachers who found there are 181 TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge Skills) that were not in the framework that are in the Texas TEKS. Larry Krieger testified on Friday during the SBOE meeting and clearly articulated his concerns as well as the charges leveled against him by proponents of the new APUSH, asserting he was disgruntled because he benefited financially from the previous APUSH framework and exam. The fact is he would have gained more financially had he not spoken out and signed the contract offered to him by publishers to write a third edition of his highly successful workbooks, aligned with the New APUSH framework and exam.
