One question that comes up frequently is...Should I eat 5-6 meals every day, should i eat 3 square meals, should i be doing intermittent fasting....Well...since i have been in the fitness industry (20+ years), we have always taught clients to eat every 2-3 hours, to prevent muscle loss and keeping your metabolism fired up. But as of late, there is information about intermittent fasting where you skip breakfast, fast for 14-16 hours, and eat large meals...! Soooooo....what is the real truth? What works? THEY BOTH DO! SOOOOO...whats the best meal frequency to follow then? THE ONE YOU CAN ADHERE TO, LEARN TO LIVE WITH AND USE CONSISTENTLY. Whether you consume your calories in 3 large meals, after an intermittent fast, or space them over 4-6 smaller meals really wont matter in the big scheme of things. Consistency, adherence, and healthy foods choices will always have way more of an impact on your results vs. how many meals you eat each day. The science and real world results clearly reveals that at the end of every day it doesnt matter how many meals you eat. All that really matters in order to get great results is: 1) Did you make the RIGHT food choices? 2) Did you keep your body in a calorie deficit? I hope this helps!
