Oooh - a moral dilemma. A gift for RS/RE teachers everywhere?! For those outside the UK... Banksy created an artwork. He screwed the artwork to a council-owned wall. The owners of a nearby youth club took it to sell it. They are charging people a donation to see the artwork. They currently need £100,000+ to keep the youth club going after the council withdrew funding for youth clubs. They plan to auction the artwork to raise the money. The council claimed that the youth club stole the artwork from their wall and are demanding it back. 1) Who owns the artwork? 2) Why do you think Banksy put it there? 3) Were the youth club right to take the artwork? 4) Are the council right to demand it back? 5) If you were Banksy, what would you be thinking?
