Our ever growing UK Rail Group is expanding. We are looking for Electrical Engineers with experience of working on major rail/metro projects at all levels. As one of the key members of the rail team, you will play a key role in the delivery of major projects. The UK rail sector is very buoyant with the government having funded major upgrade and renewals programmes worth multi billions of pounds over the next five years on the underground and mainline rail which we are currently delivering. We have over 520 staff in multiple offices across the UK including London, Reading, Birmingham, Glasgow, York and Derby. We are looking to expand our teams by up to 50 experienced staff across our offices to work on these exciting projects and can offer you a career supporting one or more of these projects. We are looking for individuals who can ‘lead by example’ and act as a mentor within the team and also someone who has previous experience of leading from the front. The candidates must have an in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering techniques so they will be able to impart this knowledge to other members of the team. Main Responsibilities • Overseeing and guiding electrical design work undertaken by the project design team. • Responsible for the electrical design work for various projects ranging from feasibility through, outline design to full detailed design. • Review design to ensure full compatibility with both industry standards • Carry out formal inter-disciplinary design reviews • Provide cost effective and technically sound solutions to meet client briefs • Undertake mentoring and development within your team • Working on station/depot upgrades; line-side electrical projects; power upgrades etc Personal Profile • Degree qualified in appropriate engineering discipline • Ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards • Experience of working on electrical design projects within the rail sector • Have excellent communication skills including Written and Verbal English to Level B2/C The candidates will be expected to want to develop their career with Jacobs through internal and external training programmes and individual learning.
