Our maternity care lacks understanding the effects to our birthing anatomy from school desks, shoes and a high paced (high tonicity) life. Add high tech solutions without understanding nutrition or soft tissues and our overall maternity system, not the person, leads to a high rate of cesareans. We can not blame an individual parent or provider for living in a world with an overall lack of knowledge about how a womans birthing body is effected by the unseen macro-system and what modern needs that makes during birth. Its not anyones fault anymore than we are all live in gravity in a modern society and our care reflects the understanding of birth we had in 1950. The technology advanced, and what we know about technology, but how we go after it as if each part of our bodies were separate pieces and the bony pelvis was the only structural issue for the baby is too limited to transcend intervention. High tonicity with low tone solutions are how a high cesarean rate makes millions for corporate birth.
