***PLEASE READ*** Today I took my kids to the hospital to visit with Miss. brAvery and her sister Ella. Visiting children in the hospitals and clinics is by far my most favorite thing to do. My littles love it too and dub themselves Renegades as well. Im a very proud and lucky father. So anyways unbeknownst to me this was not going to be a normal visit at all. Dana and Mike had an ulterior motive for inviting me. After some initial small talk and me giving young Miss. Ella another beanie baby for her collection, the 4 year old All-Star sibling walked over and presented me with a check for $3000.00 made out to Stillbrave to help us on our mission to touch the lives of children with cancer and their families. Rarely am I at a loss for words, though it is becoming ever more frequent the longer I do this kind of work, today would be one of those occasions. I almost starting crying in front of everyone. Thank you Dana and Mike from the bottom of my everything! Dear Cancer, you do horrible things to people and leave heartbreak and hurt in your wake and I hate your guts....but also you leave behind a trail of people with such a compassionate and indomitable spirit that no matter what or WHO you take from us...you still lose... you son of a b*tch!
