POISONED 80+ YEAR OLD TREES IN STRATHFIELD!!!! ANY IDEAS???... STRATHFIELD COUNCIL APPEARS TO HAVE NONE!!!??? These two iconic 80+ year old trees on the corner of Barker Rd and Chalmers St in Strathfield were recently poisoned! Within weeks-months of these trees dying residents received notice that a developer has put in an application to Strathfield Council to demolish the heritage listed house on the SAME PROPERTY due to its poor condition! (The house has deliberately been left to decay for many many years with numerous roof tiles removed and half the house left open and unsecured to the elements). According to the local newspaper: Neat drill holes at the base of their trunks suggest foul play, though no one has been able to explain why this might have happened. Strathfield Council appears to have NO IDEA who could have poisoned these trees!!!!! Can anybody help with any suggestions??????
