POSITION AVAILABLE CITY OF DECATUR, ALABAMA Fire Chief (Exempt Service Position) SALARY RANGE 60: $2,432 - $4,100.00 BIWEEKLY The purpose of this class-ification is to manage, direct, and coordinate the activities of all fire and rescue serv-ices and departmental ope-rations while exercising responsibility for enforce-ment of federal, state and local laws, codes and ordin-ances relating to public safety and welfare. Minim-um Bachelor’s degree with course work emphasis in Business/Public Administr-ation, Fire Service Manage-ment, or related field; suppl-emented by four (4) years of management experience in fire service management, fire safety, prevention, and suppression methods, equi-pment, and supplies, or related field which provides the requisite knowledge,skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Driver’s License, Alabama Firefighter I and II certifi-cations, Instructor I certifi-cation, and Cardiopulmon-ary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. May be req-uired to attain and maintain Hazardous Materials, Emer-gency Medical Technician (EMT), should have know-ledge of budgetary process and state training require-ments for fire personnel.
