POSITION: Student Service Manager II DEPARTMENT: Arts & Sciences / Academic Success Center HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Friday-8:00 am- 1:30 p.m. LOCATION: Airport Campus DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Directs the Academic Success Center for the college by managing all daily operations of the Airport Academic Success Center and overseeing the daily operations of the Academic Success Center and supervision of ASC employees at all other campus locations. Establishes, implements, reviews, and updates policies, procedures, goals and objectives for the Academic Success Center. Provides leadership and direction in short term and long-term strategic planning for the development of all tutoring services and programs in alignment with the mission of the the college. Develops and administers departmental budget, grant-funded budgets and other revenue streams, ensuring budgets do not exceed available funding levels. Provides leadership and direction in the development of marketing strategies and collaborates with other departments to promote and advertise the programs and services of the Academic Success Center to on-campus and online students, faculty, staff and interested others. Manages the content of the ASC website to ensure accuracy and currency of information. Produces statistical reports to evaluate and assess student use of ASC resources and services to support student retention efforts, assessment and outcomes. Analyzes and interprets data to determine peak time for tutor support and implements needed schedule changes. Writes quarterly and annual reports detailing the challenges and accomplishments of the Academic Success Center and provides direction and recommendations for addressing challenges. Manages the recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring and supervision of Airport, Batesburg, Leesville, Beltline, Fort Jackson, Harbison, and Northeast program coordinators, staff, tutors, Supplemental Instruction (SI) leaders, work-study students and volunteers. Manages a tutor certification program, such as the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA); integrates tutor training into all course content changes; monitor professional development and training opportunities to all Academic Success Center staff on a continuing basis. Other duties assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree and two (2) years experience in student services programs. Prefer two years experience in a college or university academic support, teaching and learning, or tutoring center. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, planning and critical thinking skills. HIRING RANGE: $46,169-$65,793, Band 07, SC State Classification System.
