POWERSKILLS is participating in the Pay it Forward initiative...and upping the challenge. Im going to adapt the common promise that is associated with this initiative (e.g., sending surprise gifts to 5 people and asking them to pay it forward). The original initiative is a very kind gesture and I will adhere to its premise...but it is about gift-giving as a sign of kindness. I promise, in addition to surprising the first 5 people or organizations to respond with gifts, to pay my talents forward. I have been incredibly blessed by mentors and coaches in my life. They gave of their time and talents freely: freely sharing with me valuable advice, specific coaching to-dos, counseling that was key to my transformation at key moments, and who literally opened the doors of opportunities that enabled me to get jobs and move along new career paths. So...the 2nd part of my pay-it-forward promise (and challenge to the first 5 respondents) is to send gifts AND literally give free coaching or open doors to 5 other people so that youre giving the gift of opportunity, 2nd chance, knowledge and skill that you have received. The first five people who comment on this status with Im in or who Like this page, will receive a surprise growth-oriented gift from me at some point during this coming calendar year - anything from a book, an inspirational gift, etc. Five additional people or organizations will receive my time (volunteering), talent (coaching, training, consulting) and support...similar to that which I received from other kind souls along my path in life. These five people or organizations must make the same offer on their Facebook status. Once my first five have commented Im in I will forward this message to you privately, so that you can copy and paste it, and put it on your status, so that we can form a web of connection of kindness. Lets do more nice and loving things in 2015, without any reason other than to make each other smile and show that we think of each other. Heres to a more enjoyable, friendly and love filled year!
