Palestine Link College Tour 2013 (23 - 27 September)- Palestine: Thirsty for sovereignty In a series of university lectures two distinguished Palestinian experts will shed light on the issue of sovereignity and viability and its consequences for Dutch policy on Palestine. In the discourse about the establishment of a Palestinian state the recurring question is whether one needs a viable economy to establish a state, or a state to develop a viable economy. More specificly, the college tour will tackle the issue of sovereignity and control over (water) resources as prerequisite for sustainable development, providing a review of the Palestinian economy during the last 20 years and the challenges facing doing business under occupation. and highlighing sustainable Economy requirements and and the implications of Donors policies and practices on the Palestinian economy. Speakers: Abdelrahman Tamimi is general director of the Palestinian Hydrology Group for water and environmental resources development. He spend is entire carreer working on the protection of Palestinian water resources. He participated in developing the strategy for the Palestinian delegation in the multilateral talks on water. Tamimi participated in all the negotiation rounds concerning the water dispute between Palestine and Israel. Abdullah Sharawi is the Investment and Business Development Manager at PADICO HOLDING. Before joining PADICO, Mr. Sharawi worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (pwc) in the Audit and Transaction Services for around 7 years. He is a board member in different companies and organizations, including public listed companies, Injaz Palestine and the Young Entrepreneurs of Palestine.Sharawi is a Co Founder of TCHE TCHE Café Palestine, the first franchise in Palestine back to the year 2009, he is one of the Palestinian young entrepreneurs.
