Parliament is not a congress of ambassadors from different and hostile interests; which interests each must maintain, as an agent and advocate, against other agents and advocates; but parliament is a deliberative assembly of one nation, with one interest, that of the whole; where, not local purposes, not local prejudices ought to guide, but the general good, resulting from the general reason of the whole. You choose a member indeed; but when you have chosen him, he is not a member of kogi central again, but he is a member of parliament. I cried for a our nation, because not so many believe in the course of one Nigeria anymore. I ask myself, if we continue this way what next for the generation unborn? Asari Dukubo said it must be Goodluck Jonathan comes 2015 (South) or else there will be no Nigeria, Prof. Ango Abdullahi said it must be a Northern president come 2015 or hell will be let loose. What is the hope for a credible candidate from the Eastern region? Then were are the nationalist? If we fail to keep sentiment aside and recognize the basic problem we face as a country, then constructive change is far away from us. The only strength we have to resist this criminals in power is that of a united and patriotic stand and not one base on region, sentiment or gender. Shame on our parliament, legislators or what so ever they called themselves. People in Parliament occupy themselves with private animosities and petty quarrels, and think little of the national interest. It is impossible to credit the serene indifference with which they consider events outside the interest of their own people. May Allah forgive those who hide under the canopy of religion to destroy humanity, may He allow the voice of the majority overthrown that of the few minority. AMEEN YARUBI!!!
