Penny update! St. Bridgets School, which does an occasional pay $1.00 and you dont have to wear your uniform (they call it a dress down day donated usually to the PTO)....well they did a pay 100 pennies day. They surpassed every record! For the Abington library! Heres the official total.... 20,274!!!!! Wow!!!!!!! Nice job every student at St Bridgets School! As we were sorting out nickels, dimes and quarters....I got a call. It was from a friend of the Abington Library, an official organization, by the way. Apparently they got a mailing yesterday. This great gal...Claire Olson...whom Ive known for years....and she wanted to donate her pennies. But Claire, just like me, is ahead in years and she couldnt lift them. So I sent a younger employee to her house to pick them up. 7,979 pennies!!! We collected over 28,000 pennies just today alone! Thanks to all the students at St. Bridgets School and to Claire (who is a member of the friends of the Abington Library)!!! The official count is now over 203,000!!!!! The next 2 pictures...above this...are just a few of the students of St. Bridgets who helped with the bulk....and Claires rather eclectic collection of containers! 28,000 pennies in one day. Yes, it was a good day. My back is killing me, but nothing Advil cant handle. If you know anyone who needs help, because a large amount of pennies are heavy........ Yes! WE pickup! We did it for Claire and well do it for you. Call 781-878-0219...ask for Phil...and well be right over. If you want your containers back, please tell me. Claire didnt want them back. Which was a good thing because one was made out of glass and we broke it. Thanks again to Claire and all the students at the St. Bridgets School!
