Per Marcus Creighton: Just left Urban League young professionals meeting. For those still not understanding what “all the fuss is about”...1. The people want answers that they are not getting. 2. There have been several violations of the 1st Amendment and other laws along with “deception”. i.e. telling people to stop video taping, not letting protestors “protest”, creating a no fly zone around the area(so no camera’s can get the truth), not interviewing eye witnesses, the officer involved actually leaving the crime scene and so on. So, some actionable ideas are 1.Make sure we reach out to the youth in the community and educate them on what they should and should not say/act if they are stopped by police. 2. Make sure we continue to use all social media outlets to get the truth out there and not let the media paint the narrative they want everyone to see. 3.Pressure elected officials to get the information requested out here so people can get their questions answered with phone calls, PEACEFUL protests and petitions. If not make sure the FBI and the Department of Justice take over the complete investigation as too much time has passed and way too many violations for local authorities to continue to lead. Be on the lookout for dontshootmo this week! All ideas are peaceful and productive, as they should be. Ferguson is not some 3rd world city as the picture has been painted on some outlets. It’s had millions of dollars invested into it in recent years and they’re not done. The city looks pretty good! But, you wouldn’t know that by watching tv.
