Perhaps a lesser known Christmas song in our country, however, I - TopicsExpress

Perhaps a lesser known Christmas song in our country, however, I Saw Three Ships (Come Sailing In) is a traditional and popular Christmas carol from 17th century England. The lyrics mention the ships sailing into Bethlehem, but the Dead Sea is the nearest body of water which lies about 20 miles away. The three ships mentioned are thought to be either the three ships that sailed suspected relics of the Biblical magi to Cologne Cathedral in the 12th century, or perhaps the three ships represented the three kings who came to baby worship baby Jesus.
