Personal Lessons from 2014 2014 has been a year rich in lessons for me (as I am sure that has been for many of you). Here are some that come to mind, as the year draws to a close: 1) We must love everyone. Some people, however, we must love at a safe distance. 2) There will always be a day when the green-eyed monster (call it envy, jealousy, anger, resentment) will bite you. To feel the pain of this bite is inevitable; to linger and anchor on the scar, is optional. 3) Some times you just got to do what you go to do, even if it means protesting naked for what is right. Don’t let shame or cellulites stop you -but do use a filter when posting the picture in Facebook ;) 4) There will always be a season of fat cows and skinny cows; only those who adapt to each season without loosing their true self go though them in harmony. 5) Being peaceful does not mean being dumb; being good does not mean accepting evil; forgiving does not mean renouncing to justice. 6) Kids grow to fast: hug and kiss liberally while you can. 7) No matter what you do or refrain from doing, there will always people who will be unable to accept you for who you are or love you the way you want them to. Accept this or scratch them off the Christmas list. 8) Sacrifice is really for masochists. You really have to enjoy doing something painful od difficult. Those who complain about the sacrifices they have made, have made none. 9) Those who want to see the beauty of life have to turn off Skynews/internet/Facebook/Twitter/mobiles once in a while and just watch a sunset or sunrise in silence. 10) Life is too short to eat things you don’t like. 11) A dream without a plan is a wish. A dream with a plan is a possibility. 12) Those who do not loved themselves can only love half-heartedly others.
