Photographer Captures Astonishing Images Of Little-Known Cultures ‘Before They Pass Away’ Excerpt; Photographer Jimmy Nelson embarked on a journey unlike any other. He wanted to capture and document as many isolated civilizations as possible – before their culture, traditions and way of life would be impacted by the developed world. He ended up telling the stories of these cultures through beautiful photography that would ensure their legacies would never be forgotten. Jimmy says: “I didn’t start this project anticipating that I could stop the world from changing. I purely wanted to create a visual document that reminds us and generations to come of how beautiful the human world once was.” This collection, called “Before They Pass Away“, preserves little-known cultures for future generations to discover and learn about. Documenting 30 unique tribes was no easy task, and creating the collection took over 3 years and thousands of air miles. Jimmy’s incredible journey took him to Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Tanazania, New Zealand,Mongolia, Siberia, Nepal, China,Vanuatu, Argentina, Ecuador, Namibia, India, Chukotka and Indonesia. “Before They Pass Away” has now been made into a book, and contains 500 images.
