Pluto suffered a brain injury that left him mentally handicapped. A long time ago, Pluto and Goofy were equals. Each a contributing member of the Mickey Mouse gang. Pluto the intellect and Goofy the comedian. Goofy took so many blows to the head during his antics he built up a tolerance, but Pluto always erred on the side of caution. Then one fateful day Goofy was doing his exercise routine and his medicine ball struck Pluto on the head. He barely survived, but the damage was permanent. Plutos brain injury left him with a permanent mental handicap: thinking hes a pet. Wracked with guilt, Goofy convinced the gang to indulge Plutos permanent delusion. Ensuring he has the best quality of life while ignoring the fact that their once brilliant friend is now a driveling idiot.
