PoJo: After a rotten start, the state is trying to capture the moral high ground in the quest to keep communities safe from what surely could be a massive disaster if a major crude oil shipment goes afoul. The state should make amends, and ratcheting up inspections and pushing the federal government to do more regarding safety are important approaches. The states initial setbacks included an intolerably lax attitude about the alarming uptick of such shipments, coupled by far too much secrecy about any plans in the works to confront the problem. pojonews.co/1z2xQ8g
