Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash on a residential property in Mount Annan this morning. Just after 9am (Thursday 10 July 2014), officers from Camden Local Area Command were called to a home on Odea Road, near the intersection of Waterworth Drive, after reports of a woman injured at the location. Officers have been told an 85-year-old man had returned home and was reversing his car into the driveway, when he appears to have accelerated into a shed and hit his wife. The 77-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries and was assisted by NSW Ambulance Paramedics but died at the scene. The man was also assessed by paramedics as a precaution and has been taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. A crime scene has been established at the home and will be examined by detectives and forensic specialists. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
