Police have released new details in their investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Sydney’s inner west on the weekend. Peter Tan Hoang, aged 36, who also used the name Peter Minh Nguyen, was found suffering gunshot wounds on Dunmore Street in Croydon Park early on Sunday 7 September. He died at the scene. The victim, originally from Vietnam, is believed to have been living at an address in Sydney’s CBD. It had been thought the man was living in Bankstown. Detectives from Ashfield Local Area Command, assisted by investigators from the Homicide Squad, have formed a strike force to investigate the man’s death. Their investigations have revealed Mr Hoang was seen at a McDonald’s outlet on the corner of Georges River Road and Dunmore Street in Croydon Park a short time before shooting. He had driven to the location in a black Nissan Skyline. Investigators are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen the man at the McDonald’s or who has any other information surrounding his death. They also want to speak with the owner of a vehicle described as a small white or silver hatch with a spoiler on the rear window that was seen in the vicinity at the same time. Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
