Polly, our maniacal, 12-year old, two-footed terror, has been diagnosed with diabetes. A few more tests to see if anything else is going on. She was two years old when her back feet had to be amputated after mistreatment in a pet store and came to live with us - along with six kittens. One of her spawn, Skyler, stayed as well and he passed away last year. Polly, in spite of her handicap, adjusted rapidly and could scoot pretty fast through the grass when outside with human supervision, catching lots of mice actually. Her handicap didnt seem to inconvenience her much. Three out of four Golden Retrievers have been terrified of her. Hopefully things can be stabilized and we have more time with her.
